Amidst the excitement, Ubisoft was eager to share changes coming to the esports scene this year.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60adf3d59\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p><a href=https://esportsinsider.com/"https:////www.ubisoft.com//en-gb//esports//rainbow-six//siege//news-updates//4ptj0lWZ0rQlMCPc754rYR//r6-esports-in-2025-the-path-forward/">The R6 2025 roadmap<\/a> revealed how the nine leagues are merging, as top-flight competitions now encompass multiple regions in efforts to streamline the global league. These include:<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Europe MENA League (EML): Bringing together teams from Europe, MENA, and Turkey. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>South America League (SAL): Combining Brazil and South Latin America to a single league. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>North America League (NAL): Merging North America, Central America, Ecuador, and Columbia. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Asian Pacific League (APL): Introducing three subdivisions. APAC North, joining Japan and Korea; Asia, including teams from South-East and South Asia area; Oceania, bringing Australia, New Zealand, and Polynesia together. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60ae00754\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>EML, SAL, and NAL will feature ten teams each: comprised of five partnered, three affiliated, and two challenger series teams. APL will function differently as the sole league with three sub-divisions.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-heading-67cf60ae00f4c\" class=\"esi-heading \">\n  \n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-r6-leagues-explained\"><span id=\"r6_leagues_explained\">R6 Leagues Explained<\/span><\/h2>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60ae016e2\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>All leagues, aside from the APL, will each feature four challenger series open qualifiers. <a href=https://esportsinsider.com/"https:////x.com//R6esports//status//1895172330772480275?t=ZYlEL4RgEPGD4iESzKyDfQ&amp;s=19\%22 target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sign-ups <\/a>are now open for players wanting a shot at the R6 regional closed qualifiers, otherwise known as the Challenger Series.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60ae01e4e\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>The challenger series will take place from March to April 2025 and offers the opportunity for Tier 2 rosters to earn a place in the top-flight R6 regional leagues.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60ae025c0\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>Regional leagues will have two stages. Each team will compete in a round-robin format with a six-team playoff per stage. Once stage two is complete, the top four teams will move forward to the November majors. <\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60ae02d21\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>Come December, stages one and two will determine the six teams that will face off for the regional champion title.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf60ae0347f\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>APLs subdivisions will compete similarly to the other three leagues.
