He said he was &#8220;very surprised&#8221; that one bad tournament run left him without a team. <\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c7e9d7\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>In response, Team Secret CEO Yao published a photo showing the Team Secret roster in a hotel room with Virtue&#8217;s back to the camera, seemingly attempting to justify the roster change with sarcasm over his behaviour.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c7f137\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>Virtue replied to the post, revealing the player was &#8220;almost crying&#8221; and unable to look at his then teammates.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c7f8a3\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>In the hours after the post, several members of the Rainbow Six esports community showed their support for Virtue, criticising Yao&#8217;s response to the situation. <a href=https://esportsinsider.com/"https:////x.com//zypher84//status//1889338159739347427/" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Many called the CEO&#8217;s behaviour &#8217;embarrassing&#8217;,<\/a> saying that players are human and that men should not be shamed for showing emotion.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c7ffef\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>Virtue <a href=https://esportsinsider.com/"https:////x.com//Virtue_R6//status//1889343199912591597/">tweeted<\/a>: &#8220;God forbid you cry after thinking you got eliminated from the tournament and don\u2019t want people seeing you cry so you have your head down on your desk. You might get kicked for it. Grown men don\u2019t cry, forgot about that\u2026&#8221;<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c80753\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>Following the wealth of backlash directed towards the Team Secret CEO, Yao admitted his wrongdoing and intends to <a href=https://esportsinsider.com/"https:////x.com//zypher84//status//1889463225030484259/">apologise to Virtue in person<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c80ea6\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>While many are upset with Yao&#8217;s comments directed at one of his former players, the incident has opened the door for more conversations surrounding mental health in esports with players competing on the biggest stages for millions in prize money. <\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c81627\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>The Team Secret incident isn&#8217;t the only incident that has taken place during the Six Invitational 2025.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c81d7e\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p><a href=https://esportsinsider.com/"https:////esportsinsider.com//2025//02//m80-coach-ban-at-six-invitational/">Following an altercation after a match<\/a> between <strong>M80 <\/strong>and <strong>DarkZero Esports<\/strong>, M80 coach <strong>Matheus &#8216;Budega Figueiredo<\/strong> received a two-year suspension from all Rainbow Six events operated by <strong>BLAST<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n<div id=\"esi-paragraph-67cf612c824de\" class=\"esi-paragraph \">\n    \n<p>As a result of the ban, Budega won&#8217;t be able to participate in any BLAST R6 events until the 2027 edition of the Six Invitational has concluded.<\/p>\n\n  <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Image Credit: Michal Konkol \/ Ubisoft Team Secret CEO John &#8216;zypher84&#8217; Yao continues to face backlash after mocking Australian Rainbow Six Siege player Jake &#8216;Virtue&#8217; Grannan following the team&#8217;s elimination from the 2025 Six Invitational.
